Sr. Barbara Ann Bell

Sinsinawa, Wisconsin Sister Barbara Bell, OP, died January 17, 2022, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wisconsin. She was born to Walter and Ruth (Demerath) Bell, September 5, 1931, in Appleton, Wisconsin. There were three daughters. She is survived by nephews, nieces and her Dominican family. For 23 years she taught in Catholic elementary schools in the following states: Minnesota, Indiana, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Maryland and Illinois. She received a master’s degree in religious education, and for 14 years, she served as religious education director in parishes in Illinois and Wisconsin. Sister Barbara was a steady, gentle, faith-filled presence throughout her life. She said yes to congregational finance work for a number of years at Sinsinawa. Then she returned to her first love, sharing Scripture study and prayer groups in Montana, Washington and Wisconsin. Services will be held at Sinsinawa, January 21-22, 2022.
