Sr. Constance "Connie" Lennartz, O.P.

Sinsinawa, Wisconsin

Sister Constance Lennartz, OP., died October 3, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Manor, Footville, Wisconsin. She was born Jeanne Carol to George and Anna (McGrath) Lennartz on October 22, 1929, in Oak Park, Illinois. There were three children. After the death of his wife, George married Louise and step-sister Bernice also joined the family. Sister Connie is survived by nephews and her beloved Dominican family. Her funeral services will be October 13 and 14 at Sinsinawa.

For 12 years, Sister Connie taught in elementary schools in Wisconsin and Iowa. She loved science and went on to teach biology in high schools in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. After further education in religious studies, she served as a youth minister, pastoral associate and RCIA director in Illinois, Alabama and Oklahoma. Sister Connie often spoke of her love for the people of Tulsa, where she spent 19 years guiding people in faith development. She was a woman who loved serving on committees, volunteering in choirs, and walking in marches that supported justice issues.
