Sinsinawa, Wisconsin Sister Julie Coyne, OP, (Mary Novella), died June 18, 2016, at St. Dominic Villa. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa, WI, followed by burial in the Motherhouse cemetery. Friends may call after 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the Motherhouse where a wake and remembering service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Sister Julie was a life long educator. She taught in the primary grades in Milwaukee and Madison, WI, for 12 years and in junior high in Chicago, IL, and Sioux Falls, SD, for five years. Sister Julie taught art full time in Minneapolis for four years and in Faribault, MN, for 26 years. Sister Julie, being the person she was, helped her students believe in themselves and to build on their talents. She also generously shared her smile and her artistic gifts with her sisters. In retirement, Sister Julie, through prayer and presence, enriched community life. Sister Julie was born on April 17, 1932, in Chicago, IL, to John and Margaret (Rabbit) Coyne and made her profession on August 5, 1952. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lee; her sister-in-law, Jean Coyne; nieces, nephews; and the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters with whom she shared life for 63 years.
