Sr. Kathleen O'Donnell

Sister Kathleen O'Donnell, OP (Marie Winifred), 93, died January 10, 2017, at St. Dominic Villa. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the Dominican Motherhouse, Sinsinawa. Friendsmay call after 5:15 p.m. Monday, January 16, at the Motherhouse, where a remembering service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Casey Funeral Home, Cuba City is handling arrangements. Sister Kathleen's ministry of education led her to teach in vartious parish school settings: Oklahoma City; Chickasaw, Ala; Washington, D.C.; Minneapolis; Galena and Dixon, Ill; Baraboo and Wauwatosa, WI. She also served as administrative assistant at St. Thomas Aquinas School, Milwaukee; Visitation School, Milwaukee; Visitation School, Chicago; and at Sacred heart School, Washington, District of Columbia. She ministered as a pastoral associate at St.Thomas Apostle Parish, Chickasaw, Ala, for two years, and as secretary for the Eastern Province of Sinsinawa Sominicans for six years. For the past several years she has lived, prayed and ministered as a member of the religious community of sisters at St. Dominic Villa. Sister Kathleen, born September 1, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., to Michael and Catherine (Maloney) O'Donnell, made her religious profession on August 5, 1946. She is survived by nieces and nephews, and by her Dominican Sisters with whom she shared religious life for 70 years.
