Sr. Marie Malachy Griffin, Op

Sister Marie Malachy Griffin, OP, died Dec. 10, 2021 at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. She was born to James and Grace (Cusack) Griffin July 7, 1939, in Oak Park, Ill. The Griffin's had three daughters: Sister Marie Malachy OP, Sister Mary James, OP and Jean Marie Crimmins (George). They surely delight in being together, once again, in God's presence forever. Sister Marie Malachy is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, extended family and her Dominican Sisters. From 1962-1983, she served as either teacher or principal in elementary schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Oklahoma. After further advanced studies in education, counseling and theology, Sister Marie Malachy spent 22 years in San Angelo, Texas as campus minister and then vicar for women religious. She was creative, loyal to family and friends and hospitable to everyone. Services will be held at Sinsinawa, Dec. 20 - 21. Casey-McNett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
