Sr. Marie Sullivan

Hazel Green, Wisconsin Marie Sullivan OP Well done, Sister Marie Sullivan, OP! She died February 9, 2022, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wisconsin. She was born to Dennis and Mary (Sullivan) Sullivan on September 17, 1931. There were three children. She is survived by nieces, nephews, her Dominican Sisters and many loving friends. Sister Marie taught for 19 years in middle schools in the Bronx, NY, Galena, IL and Kansas City, MO. Sister Marie studied at St. Louis University receiving a Master of Social Work in 1973. She returned to Kansas City for 10 more years, working at Seton Center in social work. She was proclaimed as a woman of humble service, faithful, kind and filled with a compassionate heart. In 1983 Sister Marie went to Atlanta, Georgia. She was the director of social work at Christian Emergency Help Center. With expansion of services the agency was named The Sullivan Center, a place where charity was just the first step. Sister Marie came to the Mound in 2015. She went to the Villa in 2017. Services will be held at Sinsinawa February 24-25. Casey-McNett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Well done, Marie. Live in eternal delight.
