Sr. Ruth L. Poochigian

Sinsinawa, Wisconsin Sister Ruth Poochigian, OP, died at St. Elizabeth Manor, Footville, Wisconsin, on October 22, 2021. She was born February 23, 1946, to Paul and Dorothy (Shamdanjian) Poochigian in Los Angeles. There were three children. She is survived by her brother Earnest, extended family, and her beloved Dominican Sisters. Sister Ruth attained a degree in economics, a master’s in theology and a doctorate in continuing and vocational education. This talented and well respected woman taught high school, was director of an educational center, was promoter of spirituality and study for the Sinsinawa sisters, was a consultant in adult faith formation , served as a chaplain in a hospital and worked in pastoral care in the Prison Ministry Project. Services will be held at Sinsinawa on October 26-27, 2021. Casey-McNett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Well, well done, Sister Ruth. Live in God. Go now in peace.
