Sr. Theresa Byrne, Op

Sinsinawa, Wisconsin Sister Theresa Byrne, OP, died July 21, 2021, at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wis. She was born to Thomas and Anne (Walsh) Byrne on Nov. 24, 1930. There were two children. She is survived by her beloved Dominican community and many friends. Sister Theresa entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, a French international order. In 1951 she was sent to serve educational needs in Christchurch, New Zealand. Her diligent focus on the Resurrection, contemplative search for God and commitment to developing adult faith formation and spiritual growth led her to advanced studies in the United States. In 1980 Sister Theresa transferred to the Sinsinawa Dominicans. In Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Florida she brought her robust faith, preaching and teaching to all. Services will be held at Sinsinawa July 26-27.
