Sr. Virgil Kummer, Op

Sinsinawa, Wisconsin Sister Virgil Kummer, OP, died at St. Dominic Villa, Hazel Green, Wisconsin, on October 25, 2021. She was born Evelyn Ethel Mary on November 9, 1924, to Nicholas and Ethel (Helbach) Kummer. She is survived by nieces, nephews and her Dominican family. She received the name Sister Virgil in 1946. From 1947 until 2017, 70 years, Sister Virgil shared her deep faith in the ministries of music and liturgy and administration. She often gathered groups to study scripture and muse over ultimate questions of life’s meaning. She served in Illinois, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, New York and Texas. Services will be held at Sinsinawa November 4-5, 2021. Casey-McNett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Sister Virgil: Sing, sing to the glory of the Lord forever. We hear the choir of saints and thank you.
