Thomas J. Harvey Jr., 72, of Scales Mound, Illinois, formerly of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, died Friday, February 19, 2010, at Solara Hospital in McAllen, Texas. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Hazel Green with Rev. Cy Weisensel, Rev. Chris Kuhn, and Rev. Evert Hiller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 3:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:00-10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. Tom was born on April 18, 1937, in Sherman, Texas, the son of Thomas J. and Mary Catherine (Aurit) Harvey Sr. He married Nola Mae Finn on October 26, 1957. Tom farmed the family farm north of Hazel Green and bred and showed Registered Holstein Cattle for 32 years. Tom was a real estate agent for 10 years and drove school bus for Scales Mound Public Schools for 10 years. Tom was a member of the National Holstein Cattle Club; the president of the Grant County Holstein Breeders for 4 years; a member of the Hazel Green School Board for 6 years, serving as president for 2 years; a local 4-H leader for 10 years; and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom is survived by his wife, Nola; three daughters, Tamala Jean (Mark) Salzmann and Teri Joann Harvey, both of DeForest, Wisconsin, and Teresa Jill (Steve) Ploch, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; three sons, Tony Joe (Linda) Harvey, of Dubuque, Iowa, John William (Le’Ann) Harvey, of Lapeer, Michigan, and Ted Jerome (Vickie) Harvey, of Holly Springs, North Carolina; four sisters, Mary Jane (Pete) Fager, of Cuba City, Lois Jean Temperly, of Hazel Green, Helen (Dan) Dugan, of Powder Springs, Georgia, and Dorothy (Ron) Rasque, of Onalaska, Wisconsin; and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Trudy Janeen; and a brother-in-law, Donald Temperly.
