Thomas J. "Tom" Bainbridge

Browntown, Wisconsin

Thomas J. Bainbridge, 57, of Browntown, Wisconsin, formerly of Cuba City, Wisconsin, passed away due to complications from dementia on Sunday, March 24, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Cuba City, with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Benton, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cuba City, and from 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at the church prior to the service.

Tom was born on June 1, 1966, in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Cletus and Joan (Rooney) Bainbridge, the fifth of five children. Tom attended school in Cuba City and Platteville and had the pleasure of managing the Cuba City boys high school basketball team for 25 years. Tom was also a member of the Cuba City Lions Club for many years.

Over the years Tom participated in Special Olympics, including entry into the Fifth International Summer Games in 1979 held in Brockport, New York. More than 3,500 athletes participated from all 50 states and more than 20 countries.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Joan, of Monroe, WI; his sister, Chris, of Browntown, who Tom lived with the past 4 years; two brothers, Patrick (Donna) of Verona, WI, and Terry (significant other, Brenda) of St. Louis, MO; multiple nephews, nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in his death by his father, Cletus; brother, Michael; and brother-in-law, Dennis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Cuba City Special Olympics.
