Dickeyville, Wisconsin Victor A. "Vic" Mathias, 72, of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville with Rev. Bernard Rott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 1:45 p.m. Friends may also call after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church before the service. Victor was born on March 1, 1944, in Yuma, Arizona, the son of Virgil G. and Marcia L. (Rooper) Mathias. He married Sharon Meyer on July 23, 1988 in Dickeyville. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2012. Vic was a foreman at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works, retiring from there after 30 years. He was an active hunter, fisherman, camper and carpenter. Vic was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include a special friend, Lorraine Moyer, of Kieler; two daughters, Carla (Ken) McAndrew, of Lancaster, and Elizabeth (Eddie) Hessel, of Madison; three sons, Robert Mathias, of Virginia Beach, VA, Don (Michelle) Hessel, of Altoona, WI, and Larry (Lisa) Hessel, of Dubuque; two sisters, Pamela (Floyd "Jug" ) Gillen, of Kieler, and Machele (Robert) Schmitz, of Potosi; a brother, James (Virginia) Mathias, of Richland Center; a sister-in-law, Sr. Joan Meyer, of Dubuque; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Larry Meyer.
