Virginia M. Mccauley

December 11, 1928 — April 11, 2014

Cuba City, Wisconsin, Virginia M. McCauley, 85, of Cuba City, Wisconsin, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at home. According to Virginia's wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City is in charge of arrangements. Virginia was born on December 11, 1928, in New Diggings, Wisconsin, the daughter of Elden and Susan (Bachim) Roberts. She married Robert L. "Bob" McCauley on November 22, 1950, in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Virginia was a great baker and wonderful cook making excellent pies and noodles. Meals were always plentiful. Her favorite past time was embroidering. She enjoyed watching the Badgers and the Cubs and going to all casinos. Spring was her favorite time of the year. She looked forward to seeing her first robin. Virginia had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Our mother was a beautiful and graceful woman. She endured her battle with cancer without ever complaining. We are not only losing our mother but a great friend. Survivors include her husband, Bob; two daughters, Sharan (Jim) Miller, of Dubuque, and Kay (special friend, Steve Malone) Brink, of Benton; four sons, Mike (Anne) McCauley, of McFarland, Jack (Jo) McCauley, of New Diggings, Jim McCauley, of Cuba City, and Gary (Patti) McCauley, of Lodi; a brother, Robert "Bob" (Muriel) Roberts, of Kieler; a sister-in-law, Mary Roberts, of Hazel Green; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Nordel. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Dubuque, with special recognition to mom's nurse, Traci. Also, thank you to the oncology staff at Medical Associates. A big thanks and appreciation to Dr. Schultheis, for all you gave of yourself to mom's care and life.
