Benton, Wisconsin Wayne “Buck” Aurit, 76, of Benton, Wisconsin, died Saturday, December 17, 2011, at home surrounded by his family after several courageous battles with cancer. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, at St. Patrick’s Church in Benton with Rev. David Flanagan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 2:45 p.m. Friends may also call from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home before the service. Buck was born on July 19, 1935, in Leadmine, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and Estella (Sheffer) Aurit. He married Nancy C. Von Glahn on January 23, 1960 at St. Patrick’s Church in Benton. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2010. He served in the Army from 1954-1957 in Japan and Korea. Buck worked at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works for 30 years. He and Nancy also operated Buck’s Bar, Hide-Away Acres, Wheel In Restauant & Lounge and Red’s Supper Club. Buck enjoyed garage sales and going to resale shops searching for collectibles. He loved to drive his ’57 Chevy. Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy; a daughter, Cindy K. Aurit, of Madison; a son, Rick W. (Barb) Aurit, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; four brothers, Norbert (Lillian) Aurit, of Janesville, Maynard (Alecia) Aurit, of Batavia, Illinois, Bernarr (Ardice) Aurit, of Janesville, and Richard (Sharon) Aurit, of Madison; three grandchildren, Alycia (Jeremy) Kidwell of Bakersfield, California, and Jordan and Connor Aurit, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and a great-granddaughter, Genevieve Kidwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harley; and a sister, Pauline M. Johnson. A Wayne "Buck" Aurit Memorial Fund has been established. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Dubuque Internal Medicine especially Dr. Hermann and Tony, and Hospice of Dubuque.
