William F. Hanfeld

Hazel Green, Wisconsin William F. "Bill" Hanfeld, 73, of Hazel Green, Wisconsin, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 26, 2012. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2012, at St. Francis de Sales Church in Hazel Green with Rev. Lance Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cuba City where the parish wake service will be at 1:45 p.m. Bill was born on December 14, 1938, in rural Cuba City, the son of Alfred and Clara (Wubben) Hanfeld. He married Barb Hale on April 8, 1961, at St. Francis de Sales Church. They have celebrated 50+ years of marriage. Bill was employed at Flexsteel as a design engineer for 33 years. Bill enjoyed having his monthly Romeo Breakfast and his yearly 4 Just Men Trip, collecting John Deere tractors, and watching his grandchildren doing their special activities. He also enjoyed his Texas home where he could play golf and drink an ice cold Pabst. Bill was a diehard Bear and Cub fan. He was a gifted woodworker who made many special items for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barb; his son, Jeff (Susan) Hanfeld and their children, Tyler and Brianna, of Loves Park, Illinois; his siblings, Mary (Augie) Selan, of Milwaukee, Carol Signer, of Gratiot, Joe Hanfeld, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Lois (Bernie) Farrey, of Davenport, Iowa, and Norm (Mary Jean) Hanfeld, of Kieler; a sister-in-law, Patti (Ted) Kruser, of Hazel Green; a brother-in-law, Dan (Shelia) Hale, of San Maguel, California; and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his father- and mother-in-law, LaVerne and Kate Edwards. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grant County Hospice or Badger Camp. Thank you to Finley Hospital and the entire ICU staff for all their care, especially to his nurse, Gloria.
