Mitchell McNett is the licensed funeral director and proud owner of Casey-McNett Funeral Home. A lifelong resident of Cuba City, Wisconsin, Mitchell’s journey into funeral service began with a deep-rooted connection to the community and the funeral home itself. Starting as a high school helper, he was encouraged by the former funeral director, Kevin, and his father to pursue a career in funeral service. Their mentorship and Mitchell’s natural compassion led him to attend UW-Madison and ultimately begin his career at the funeral home in 2015. In 2020, he took ownership, continuing the legacy of care and support that the funeral home has provided for generations.
Mitchell approaches his work with a heartfelt philosophy: while he is not the reason families walk through the doors, he strives to be the reason they leave with comfort, peace, and cherished memories of their loved ones. This guiding principle shapes every aspect of his work as he supports families during some of their most challenging moments.
In addition to his role at the funeral home, Mitchell is a certified pet crematory operator and certified pet funeral director, owning and operating McNett Pet Cremations. His dedication to providing compassionate care extends to the beloved pets of the community.
Mitchell’s commitment to community service is evident through his involvement in various organizations. He is a member of the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Chamber of Commerce, Southwest Funeral Directors Association, and Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association. Outside of his professional life, Mitchell also serves as a high school football coach, finding joy in mentoring young athletes.
Growing up on a local dairy farm instilled in Mitchell a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the small-town values of Cuba City. When he’s not working, he enjoys hiking, lifting weights, spending time with his fiancée Bethany Freeman (with plans to marry in 2025), and cherishing moments with his family, friends, and dog. He’s an avid football fan and takes pride in the friendly, close-knit atmosphere of the community he calls home.
Mitchell’s dedication, professionalism, and genuine care make him a trusted figure in the lives of those he serves at Casey-McNett Funeral Home and within the broader community.

A wise man once told Kevin, "Case, surround yourself with good people." Kevin has done a great job of that, and Mitch believes he has done the same with the wonderful staff we have. Each staff member is actively involved in community and church organizations. These individuals make it possible for us to professionally conduct funerals with the quality of service our families deserve and have come to expect from us.
We also wish to acknowledge and thank past staff members, Oliver Gray, Al Kern, Tom Murphy, Jack Alexander, Jerry Redfern, Vince Wallenhorst, Dave Klein, Kenny Pickel, Stu Fraundorf, & John Piddington. These individuals have helped to make us what we are today.
